Introduction
How can one enter into Samadhi (a state of meditative consciousness)?
If you want to know your destiny, there is no other alternative but to let Rinpoche know all of your information (in this present life and the past lives) so that he can devise personal instructions for you that fit with your circumstances!
Basically, the destiny of a living individual has already been predestined at the instant when the egg is fertilized inside one’s mother. At the moment when one is born, one is promptly heading towards the orbit of destiny that has been designed and scheduled (causes sowed in the previous life).
Indeed, what are the factors that determine one’s fate? To determine one’s fate, there are a great many factors which are also very complicated. Furthermore, they involve the causes and effects of many lifetimes. The abstruse as well as immeasurable factors are far beyond your estimation and imagination. They exceed the intelligibility as well as understanding and comprehension of the scope of human’s wisdom.
People themselves possess the characteristics of dual character, namely the superficial character and the internal character, which is known as the ‘dual nature of character’. Man’s characters (irrespective of internal or external) exist in one’s daily living from which they are often shown up. For example, when one encounters an accident or a sudden occurrence, one’s hidden internal character will be stimulated and ‘jumps’ out. The resulting outcomes will frequently make people around one surprised or difficult to accept. Actually, one’s illness, occupation, marriage, spouse and everything else are all decided by the character of the individual.
One’s characters, which are lurked in the deep consciousness in one’s awareness, are inherent instead of acquired after birth. Being brought about by ‘hereditary’ factors, a lot of people (in most cases) happen to experience very similar destiny as their ancestors in the previous two to three generations. This is also the causal relationship between ancestors and descendants in the sense that ‘As the ancestor sows, so shall the descendant reaps’. In addition, it is a phenomenon that the DNA of one’s ancestor has left behind.

Orthodoxy
1. As the (Chinese) proverb says, ‘Rivers and mountains may be changed but it’s hard to alter a man’s character’. (One can see that) if Rinpoche wants to change your character, how arduous will it be to do so. Apart from treating the ingrained as well as adverse DNA, it is also necessary to untie the fast knot of destiny (factors that determine your fate) in which the comparatively abominable factors need to be eliminated and destroyed. One can well imagine that it is even more difficult than curing a fatal illness like terminal cancer etc. It is a hundred times more arduous and onerous which is approaching the probability of ‘unlikely to be successful’.

2. Human characters are of numerous strange forms. As the Chinese proverb says, ‘Hundreds of different types of people are fed with one kind of rice’(meaning: even though people are brought up by the same resource, they turn into people of different characteristics). There are different kinds of people, each with one’s own ‘distinct DNA’, ‘different factors that determine one’s destiny’ as well as the instant of garbha-avakranti (becoming pregnant) before coming into the world. In the point of view of Buddhism, they are all ‘cause and effect’. In addition, due to the difference in degree (the degree of seriousness is directly affected by factors including the vicissitudes of the individual, one’s social circumstances, national cultures and government policies) that each individual ‘repress’ oneself, there exists a greater discrepancy. Rinpoche must have a lucid and thorough idea of your situation (case history) before he can prescribe the right medicine for your illness. As the medicine takes effect, the symptoms (of your illness) will be vanished. In other words, Rinpoche should know your personality as well as a beggar knows his bag so that he can adopt suitable methods to cure and help you improve your character. In this way, the destiny of the practitioner can have a favourable turn. Thus, it is precisely how a sentient being is being rescued. Hence, enlightening a sentient being is not as simple as giving discourses and expounding the doctrine only.

3. To untie the encased knot (DNA, subconsciousness, undesirable factors etc.) in your destiny which is necessarily done by an experienced Rinpoche who complies special cultivation of dharma practices like sadhana (meaning: rituals), visualization … etc. so as to try to lead practitioners into Samadhi. These methods are not only the unique dharma practices that Rinpoche possesses, but also the diagnostic methods as well as treatments for practitioners simultaneously.

4. Mantra-chanting, visualization and dhyana (meditation) in Tantric Buddhism, cleaning the contaminated deep subconsciousness of practitioners is of the first and foremost importance so that visualization and meditation can be carried out. (If one’s subconsciousness is not pure, the practitioner will self-generate negative interactions including opposition, contradiction and repulsion. Thus, it is precisely the reason why one should have complete confidence and total acceptance on one’s Rinpoche whom deserves one to follow, depend and rest upon as well as attach oneself to).

5. Cultivating Samadhi can awaken one’s brain cells which thereby greatly increase the processing capability of one’s ‘brain’. As the capacity of one’s brain cells is strengthened (the opening up of the Crown chakra), the processing capability of one’s ‘mind’ will naturally be raised. It means that the practitioner is getting wiser gradually.

6. Visualization or even thorough as well as complicated methods of visualization and meditation that are carried out right away without going through the sequential procedures of cultivation as well as sufficient training will cause schizophrenia or arouse a sudden abnormality in character. More severely, there will be the emergence of demon’s affairs during the course of cultivation without one’s realization.

Epilogue
1. Rinpoche has to know the Four Pillars of Destiny first (both great monk “Dai-oshō大和尚” in Chinese Buddhism and Rinpoche in Tibetan Buddhism apply such a practice to their advanced disciples) and then enters into Samadhi to observe. With the coordination of the aforementioned two ways can understand your walking direction and the trajectory in this life (worldly method).

2. Subsequently, it is to have an insight into your antecedents (the fate that is determined at the instant of the fertilization of the egg).

3. It is only afterwards that the jail-breaking way can be figured out (that is to enter into the dharma practice of Samadhi). The practitioner(s) is/are then led to go to a good as well as auspicious path individually and independently (the achievements may not appear until the next life, so there is a need to pave the way for the future life in advance). (Surely you do not expect that it is an easy task to be a Rinpoche!)

4. I visited a sick pious Buddhist follower who was in hospital a few days ago and found that he was very pitiful. Psychologically, he could not accept the brain surgery that he was going to have, but as there were really no other choices, what he could only do was to believe in the doctors. Before the brain operation, the doctor thought quite helplessly, “Apart from cutting open the brain to examine and carry out the excision; is there really no other alternative? However, it looks as if it’s the only way for the time being!”
The way Rinpoche cures you also depends highly on the seriousness of your illness (karma). In case if your illness is serious, the medicine use will relatively be a bit more (the number of times of mantras chanted is counted in terms of a hundred million as a base number); at times, your illness is so serious that an operation is needed (reprove loudly). Knowing perfectly that you basically and mentally cannot accept this kind of therapy which aims at curing you completely by transforming your bad character (into better ones), Rinpoche also feels helpless and deplores with signs. It is simply because I am the Rinpoche and as you can find no other better way that you have to accept mine. Do you accept it wholeheartedly or being forced to do so? ! You’d better ask yourself honestly!

5. Thinking of this point, patients with ‘mind and soul’ disease seem as if they do not need to take any responsibilities except the mentally stress. If Rinpoche has to carry out an operation (a mind and soul operation) on you, the fact that whether you can bear it or not is also taken into consideration. It is because the success of Rinpoche’s brilliant operation has to depend on if the ‘mind and soul’ patient totally and sincerely accepts the cure of Rinpoche during the therapeutic process or not.
Just as the lay Buddhist Nan Huai-chin, who is a great contemporary Master, has trained a very good disciple, Jin Manci (consulting ‘Meditation Journal’, a book written by Jin Manci, one can be able to know how Mr. Nan Huai-chin has taught such a very good disciple).
