If it is asked: ‘Raise your hand if you want success!’ I believe that a vast majority of people will raise their hands.
However, if it is asked: ‘Raise your hand if you want to face hardship!’ then perhaps many people will not raise their hands.
Many people do not have the characteristics of ‘creativeness or risk-taking’, they dislike setting goals for themselves and are unwilling to face hardships, with only the wish ‘to enjoy the fruits without labour, to succeed in one big stride’. However, one’s success is seldom achieved by shortcuts! There may be some who can ‘take the escalators’ and luckily succeed in a flash, however, we should not expect that we ourselves must have such luck! The best thing for us will always be to ‘take the stairs’ with our feet firmly on the ground, which is, by comparison, more stable.
Furthermore, when climbing the stairs, we should repeatedly say to ourselves that I am ‘young and able’, I have ‘goals and dreams’; ‘perhaps luck may prevail once, but will definitely not have my abilities buried forever’ and ‘I will definitely not fall into oblivion, I will succeed!’
It is true that we may not have ‘the right to choose where we are born into’, however, we absolutely have ‘the right to change the environment of which we live in’; when we can decide on our own destiny, we must never put our fate in the hands of others!
Therefore, let us consider, ‘What kind of wishes do I still have? What kind of dreams do I still have?’ I will definitely fulfil them! The most pitiful thing will be if there are no dreams in life, is that not worse than being a poor person or a beggar?
‘Mountains are high, people are taller! Roads are long, our legs are longer!’ As long as we have confidence and commitment, we can definitely change our destiny and make our beautiful dreams come true!
